Moore used to wear an eye patch in an attempt to correct the problem of cross eyed until it was eventually corrected by two surgeries. During this time, she also suffered from kidney dysfunction.
The family after much moving due to Guynes frequently changing jobs finally settled in Los Angels in 1976. Here, Moore attended Hollywood's Fairfax High School, from where she later dropped out at the age of 16 in order to pursue a career in acting.
